Magical Whodunnits with Snark and Humor!
Welcome to the mystical mysteries of Alyn Troy’s unique and humorous world.
From the Welsh countryside of Misty Valley, to the seaside Southern Californian town of St. Maurice, and up the Southern Ontario small town of Eerie Falls, Alyn’s cozy mysteries all feature female sleuths, snarky talking cats, real whodunnit mysteries full of clues and red herrings to challenge your own detective skills.
Alyn grew up in the lower midwest of the USA. His early reading habits included The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Encyclopedia Brown, and Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators. Scooby Doo and similar shows quickly added to Alyn’s Saturday morning sleuthing.
He’s always loved the ooky, and the kooky world of shows like The Addams Family, and tries to capture that same humorous and magical spirit in his own writing.
Meet the Sleuths
April Storm/Ebrel Dymestl
When American barista April gets a call from her Aunt Rose, inviting the 36-year-old to move to Wales and help convert her aunt’s tea room into a hip espresso bar, who is April to say no?
Little does April, now using her British name Ebrel, know that her mother’s ancestry is more than just being a little bit Welsh. Nor does she realize what her unique talent of being able to see and hear ghosts is about to unleash.
Joined by her ex-and-dead boyfriend Jake, his band of ghostly chickens, a magical secret agent, and a snarky talking cat named Punkin, Ebrel brews up mystical mysteries as the dead demand answers about their demise.
Follow Ebrel’s adventures in the Mystic Brews Series.

Twizzle Twist
St. Maurice isn’t your typical small southern California town. Built atop a fault that continues to reveal Faerock deposits, members of the town often face magical surges that can cause birth defects or worse.
Twizzle Twist, a pixie born with a bum leg, and misshapen wing, might not fly as well as normal pixies, but she’s at the top of her game as St. Mo’s best real estate agent.
Her home is atop the building that houses the classic carousel on St. Mo’s main attraction, the amusement pier.
When the wizard of the pier gets Twiz to help his newly arrived #87 nephew, Chaz, to find a house suitable for a wheelchair bound vampire, the two discover the owner of the first home dead. Murdered!
Twiz and Chaz, along with a mini-dragon masquerading as a snarky feline, Amanda, the mermaid barista at the pier’s coffee shop, and a host of other friends, try to solve the murder before they become targets.
And, they have to do this while battling city hall! The town council’s leader, and top witch one of the town’s covens, wants to destroy the pier, and with it, Twizzle’s home.
Despite her handicaps, Twiz, and the rest of St. Maurice show how capable they are as mystery after mystery pops up in the Pixie Twist series. Discover it today.

Sammi Cupertino
A Canadian girl, hailing from the small fae town of Eerie Falls in southern Ontario, Sammi wants nothing more than a life of adventure.
But, with a klutz curse, Sammi is more at home in her bookshop, co-owned by her absent-minded grandfather. When she realizes the cat she saw almost crushed by a truck really is undead, and is now inhabited by the spirit of her deceased grandmother, Sammi isn’t sure what to tell her grandfather.
With the arrival of the cute new town constable, Courtney, Sammi sees potential for a date night or two in her future.
To complicate matters, a mundane author, DeAnn, has just arrived in town. Everyone needs to hide their magical nature from the writer, lest they give away the secret of the fae to the rest of the world.
When murder rocks the small town, Sammi teams up with her undead cat Cleo, along with Constable Courtney, and Sammi’s buddy Gord who works at the town’s donut shop. Author DeAnn is there every step of the way, complicating any and all magical aspects of the mystery.
Eerie Falls Mysteries is Alyn Troy’s newest series. Like all of Alyn’s books, this series features a diverse cast of magical creatures, races and mysteries, along with an LGBTQ+ friendly approach. Sammi is loosely based on Alyn’s own niece, who is a librarian in real life.
